After a few decades of offering tanning services, we knew exactly what tanning equipment we did and did not want to offer our valued customers. Thus, a large percentage of the tanning equipment you will find at here, we had custom made. We proudly worked hand in hand with both the equipment manufacturers and the indoor lamp companies to design equipment that maximized the lamps tanning performance while simultaneously minimizing your exposure time and still provide you with the superior results you expect and deserve.  The results were ...  beautifully designed, comfortably spacious units, and that result was a lucky plus as the most important feature we desired in our equipment first and foremost was performance.

Only quality lamps go into our units and we’re never settling for the less expensive, inferior performing lamps that flood the marketplace.  The lamps here are professionally metered on a regular basis and replaced appropriately as we never wait to do a lamp change till after tanner’s experience a lack of quality tanning results.   We truly do expertise in lamps. We don’t just make the claim.  We stand behind it 100% and our happy, returning customers are the proof.  We would be out of business after 30+ years open if we did anything short of that. We also sought to minimize the amount of UV exposure and time you spend for each session, respecting that you should have the power to control your UV exposure both outdoors and indoors thus, we don’t offer any smaller, minimal performance units.  We only offer high performance, multi-level equipment featuring low maximum time sessions and are tanning results proficient.

Our rooms are cooled by many tons of air conditioning vented appropriately throughout the salon and are assisted by dedicated fan systems during each session use. Tanning FAQ’s

 

 Q: Is eye protection necessary or can I just close my eyes or wear my sunglasses during my tanning  session?

A:  Yes, it is necessary.  We follow all FDA approved safety guidelines in regards to tanning.  Your health and safety is a priority to us. Thus, it is required when tanning in our salon.  Closing your eyes alone will do absolutely nothing to protect your eyes.  We sincerely care about your safety from head to toe and you should too.  Please realize the serious dangers to your beautiful, only pair of eyes when tanning indoors without it.  We have free eye wear data information brochures plus various types of effective FDA approved eye wear available at the front desk. You will be required to show your eye wear prior to tanning on each and every visit.

 Q: What should I wear or not wear when tanning indoors?

A: Most people wear nothing at all while tanning to avoid tan lines however, you can wear whatever you are most comfortable in.  Our only rule for that choice is that your clothing choice does not have any metal or other material embellishments that could scratch the shields that you will be laying on inside the unit, including jewelry such as toe rings, anklets, heavier chain necklaces etc.  You get the idea.  We work hard to keep our equipment in tip top condition, thus wearing nothing at all while tanning is the preferred choice.

 

Q: Can I  tan multiple times each day indoors or mix outdoor tanning with indoor tanning all in the same day?

A: It is not wise to do that, nor is double indoor tanning sessions during the same 24 hour period permitted in our salon.  You risk harming your skin and in no way does that seem smart or productive in reaching the quality, safe as possible tanning results you want.  Tanning both indoors and outdoors in a single day is not necessary as the skin can only create and process so much melanin over a particular time span.  Why waste your time or again, risk harming your skin or your current tanning progress.  Please allow one of our Staff members to review a proper tanning schedule with you and why it works so much better and saves you both time and money.

Q: Can I leave my kids with you to watch while I  tan?

A: We are very busy working all over the salon and can not see them from most areas which would leave them 100% unattended and being that the waiting area is located near the front door we feel this would not be a safe situation for your child and is not advisable. Please feel free to bring a person with you to watch over them while you tan.  Children are also not permitted to be inside the tanning room with you while you tan.

 

Q: Should I use a special type of moisturizer after tanning?

A: You can and should moisturize regularly to increase the skins ability to accept any new UV light applied and also for the processing portion of any UV light you have already received.  We carry a wide variety of moisturizers and other skincare products designed specifically for indoor tanning but if you choose to use your own type moisturizer, that is far better than not moisturizing at all.  Your skin will tan better with it and your tan will last longer from the regular use of it and is an essential part of good skincare whether tanning indoors or outdoors or not tanning at all as well.

 

Q: Should I apply an indoor lotion prior to tanning indoors?

A: Yes, you should.  Lotion should be applied within 30-minutes of tanning or immediately prior to tanning to get the most ‘active ingredient effectiveness’ out of it. Our professional lines of indoor lotions will assist in maximizing the results from each session which is usually preferred and saves you time and money over the long run.  If you choose to bring in your own  lotion that is o.k. as long as the bottle has written on it that it can be used indoors.  We will ask you to allow us to verify that your own lotion is harmless to our equipment.  The lotions that do not say 'safe for indoor use' are not permitted as they can harm the shields and finish on our equipment.  We offer a plethora of indoor lotions in every price range and our staff is always available to help you choose which lotion best meets your personal tanning goals.

 

Q:  Should I seek my Doctors approval to tan indoors? 

A:  If  you currently discuss your outdoor tanning habits with your doctor or simply just wish to discuss with your doctor about indoor tanning then yes. If you are taking medications that may be sun sensitive or have any other health conditions that tanning indoors or outdoors might conflict with then absolutely yes. You would know this answer best based upon your own private health issue knowledge.

 

Q: Are your tanning units sanitized? Do we do it ourselves, or do you sanitize them?

A:  They are 100% cleaned and sanitized after each session use and only an Ultra Sun staff member is permitted to do so.  We are very particular about sanitation and want you to be so too.

 

Q:  Can I put my membership on hold while I am away on vacation?

A:  Yes, We do accommodate vacation time away for each member and your time away will be added on to the end of whatever the normal expiration date currently is.  We simply close off the tanning membership for the week or weeks you are gone and reactivate the membership on a predetermined, specific date as planned with you.

Q: Will  I get credit or something for free if I bring in, or send new customers to your salon?

A:  Yes, We have as awesome rewards program available to all customers.  Please stop at the front desk for details so you don’t miss any credits that you might have coming your way.

 

Q:  What’s the most cost effective way to tan in your salon?

A:  That one’s easy … It’s Membership.  Our Members receive the absolute lowest prices and all Memberships come with an array of free or discounted perks that can be used in every single service the salon offers.  Please inquire at the front desk about all the Membership options available.  We are always happy and eager to share with you ways to save both money and time.

Q: What are your salon hours?

A:  We are open 7 days a week with the exception of observed holidays.  Our daily hours vary per time of year and always appropriately increase to meet customer demand during the peak tanning seasons.  Our Sunday and Monday hours are slightly lessened allowing Staff to make appointments and personal commitments at other places life requires without issue.  You can always call before arriving to make sure we are open at the exact time you are thinking about coming in.  # 860-649-1538
